At Lightning Aquatics Bahamas, we believe that the pursuit of excellence goes beyond the pool. We’re thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our swimmers, who not only excel in the water but also make waves in their academic and personal lives. Today, we honor three remarkable team members—James Burrows, Abbigail Moss, and Donald Saunders II—who have gone above and beyond, embodying our values of dedication, resilience, and service to others.
Congratulations to James Burrows on his appointment as Junior Prefect at Eva Hilton Primary School! James’s drive to help others and his charismatic attitude have made him a natural choice for this leadership role. His commitment to his school and peers is inspiring, and we are proud to see him stepping up as a role model. James demonstrates the same discipline and leadership in his academics that he brings to every training session and competition, making him a valued member of our team and a bright light within his school.
Our heartfelt congratulations go to Abbigail Moss, who was honored with the prestigious 2024 Rising Star Award from The Bahamas Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture. This award recognizes young individuals who show exceptional promise and potential in their pursuits, and Abbigail has proven herself to be a true rising star. Her dedication to swimming and her vibrant spirit are matched by her determination to succeed both in and out of the pool. We look forward to seeing Abbigail continue to reach new heights, both as an athlete and as a young leader in our community.
We are incredibly proud of Donald Saunders II, who has been named one of the three finalists for the Ministry of Youth National Award in Sports. Donald’s commitment to excellence and sportsmanship has earned him this distinguished recognition. Additionally, Donald’s peers and teachers at St. John’s College have chosen him to serve as the 2024-2025 Head Boy, a testament to his leadership and dedication to his school community. Balancing academics, sports, and leadership responsibilities is no easy feat, but Donald manages it all with grace, determination, and resilience.
These achievements by James, Abbigail, and Donald reflect not only their individual dedication but also the strength and support of our Lightning Aquatics family. We are immensely proud of each of them for their hard work, leadership, and passion, both in the pool and beyond. They set a powerful example for their teammates and all young Bahamians, showing that with commitment and heart, anything is possible.
To James, Abbigail, Donald, and all our athletes: congratulations! We are excited to continue supporting you in your journeys and celebrating your successes, both on the podium and in the world. Keep shining brightly—you are the pride of Lightning Aquatics, and we are honored to have you on our team.
